Each band that enters will have twenty minutes on stage to impress the judges and audience. At the end of the concert, the expert panel of judges will choose one band, and a second band will be chosen by audience vote. These two bands will win special prizes and the opportunity to play at this year’s Summer Fun on the 101: Leucadia’s Music Festival. Check out the set list:

At last year’s Battle, judges were blown away by the powerful vocals and right on rhythms from ‘Don’t Tell Mom’. The fans couldn’t resist the power pop of ‘Triceratropical’, crowning them the People’s Choice out of seven groups competing. “We can’t wait to see what new acts and veteran rockers come out for this year’s event,” said Micahel Schmitt the Leucadia 101 Main Street Promotional Chair. “This event brings the whole community together to celebrate our young talent, we love fostering artists of all ages in Leucadia” said Carris Rhodes the Executive Director of the Leucadia 101 Main Street.
Seaweed and Gravel, located at 1144 N. Coast Hwy 101, is an eclectic vintage shop that embodies the hippy surf culture of Leucadia. They define themselves as “A retail extension of the collective conscious of non-conforming-never-grow-up-weirdos. New and Vintage Apparel, Surfboards, Custom & Vintage Motorcycles, Boots, Bonsai Trees and more…” It is the perfect place to host the Battle of the Bands, along with the Summer Fun on the 101 music festival.
Summer Fun on the 101 is a celebration of the unique cultural crossroads of music and surf, both a big part of Leucadia’s history. The festival has grown in size, community participation and range of music. Summer Fun on the 101 is a musical celebration taking place on Coast Highway in Leucadia, California on Friday June 26th and Saturday June 27th. Admission is FREE, attendees can buy a raffle ticket for some amazing prizes to support some excellent local causes and the Leucadia 101 Main Street.
